Mae Llywodraeth Cymru yn cefnogi tegwch mewn ysgolion yn bennaf drwy’r Grant Tegwch (GDD). Dosberthir y cyllid hwn i awdurdodau lleol ac fe’i dirprwyir yn uniongyrchol i ysgolion er mwyn codi cyrhaeddiad addysgol dysgwyr difreintiedig, gan gynnwys plant sy’n gymwys i gael prydau ysgol am ddim (PYDd) a’r rhai sydd â phrofiad o ofal.

Ar gyfer 2026-27 rhoddwyd i Ysgol Cei Newydd ddyraniad Grant Tegwch o £20,700

Yn Ysgol Cei Newydd rydym yn defnyddio'r grant yma i hyrwyddo cynnydd a chael gwared ar rwystrau i ddysgu i fyfyrwyr sy’n gymwys ar gyfer y cyllid hwn.

Rydym wedi defnyddio’r cyllid sydd ar gael i:

• wella dysgu ac addysgu drwy ddarparu rhaglenni cefnogi mewn grwpiau llai

• darparu rhaglenni ymyrraeth a chymorth y profwyd eu bod yn cael yr effaith fwyaf a’u bod yn gynaliadwy.  Mae Satpin, Personal Dictionaries, Grwpiau Darllen ac ELSA wedi bod yn rhaglenni effeithiol iawn a pharhawn gyda rhain.

• darparu hyfforddiant penodol o safon uchel i staff yr ysgol,

• cyflwyno a defnyddio systemau olrhain data i nodi anghenion dysgwyr, targedu ymyraethau a monitro effaith.

• gweithio mewn partneriaeth ag ysgolion eraill, y gymuned a sefydliadau eraill

The Welsh Government supports equity in schools primarily through the Equity Grant (PDG). This funding is distributed to local authorities and delegated directly to schools to raise the educational attainment of disadvantaged learners, including children eligible for free school meals (eFSM) and those who are looked after children.  

For 2026–27, Ysgol Cei Newydd was allocated an Equity Grant of £20,700.

At Ysgol Cei Newydd, we use this grant to promote progress and remove barriers to learning for pupils who are eligible for this funding.

We have used the available funding to:

• Improve teaching and learning through the provision of support programmes in smaller groups.

• Deliver intervention and support programmes that have proven to have the greatest impact and are sustainable. Satpin, Personal Dictionaries, Reading Groups and ELSA have been highly effective programmes, and we will continue to develop these.

• Provide high-quality, targeted training for school staff.

• Introduce and use data-tracking systems to identify learners’ needs, target interventions and monitor impact.

• Work in partnership with other schools, the community and external organisations.

This funding has enabled the school to provide targeted support for learners, strengthen progress, improve wellbeing and engagement, and ensure that pupils receive appropriate intervention to help them reach their full potential. Additionally, it has supported staff development and strengthened the school’s ability to identify and address barriers to learning effectively.
