Fe wnaethom greu'r ffilm yma gan ddefnyddio meddalwedd “Animate Your Voice” Adobe Express. Rydym yn hyrwyddo ein pentref glan môr hyfryd sef Cei Newydd. Gyda lluniau hyfryd, fideo diddorol a lleisiau cyfeillgar, mae’n dangos y siopau a’r busnesau lleol sydd yn y pentref. Mae’n annog pawb i ymweld, archwilio a chefnogi ein pentref rhyfeddol.
This fun film was made using Adobe Express’ “Animate Your Voice” software. It was made to promote our lovely seaside village of Cei Newydd. With bright photos, interesting video and friendly voices, it shows the amazing local shops and busnesses in the village. It encourages everyone to visit, explore, and support our wonderfull village.
This film, based on our Urdd National Eistedfod winning radio programme, explores the Welsh word “Ysgol,” which means both “school” and “ladder.”
Through stories, voices, and creative visuals, we show how learning helps us climb life’s ladder. We've transformed the original audio into a colourful and inspiring short film.
Mae'r ffilm hon, sy'n seiliedig ar ein rhaglen radio a wnaeth ennill y wobr gyntaf yn Eisteddfod Genedlaethol yr Urdd am greu Rhaglen Radio . Mae'r cynnwys yn archwilio'r gair Cymraeg “Ysgol,” sy'n a 2 ystyr yn y Gymraeg. Trwy straeon, lleisiau a delweddau creadigol, rydym yn dangos sut mae dysgu yn ein helpu i ddringo ysgol bywyd. Rydym wedi trawsnewid y rhaglen radio gwreiddiol yn ffilm lliwgar ac ysbrydoledig.

Rydym yn gyffrous iawn i rannu'r gwaith rydym wedi'i wneud wrth archwilio a dathlu ein hanes lleol.
Dros y ddau dymor diwethaf rydym wedi bod ar daith arbennig yn ymweld â safleoedd hanesyddol, clywed straeon gan bobl leol, a datgelu'r gorffennol, sydd wedi llunio ein cymuned heddiw.
Rydym wedi dysgu am hanes adeiladu llongau a'r Bad Achub ac wedi darganfod sut y llwyddodd smyglwyr y 18fed ganrif i ddod â nwyddau gwaharddedig i Gei Newydd heb gael eu dal.
We are very excited to share with you the work we have done in exploring and celebrating our local history.
Over the past 2 terms we have been on a fantastic journey—visiting historical sites, hearing stories from local people, and uncovering the past, that has shaped our community today.
We’ve learned about the history of ship building and the Lifeboat and discovered how the 18th century smugglers managed to bring contraband into New Quay without being caught.
Rydym hefyd wedi dychmygu sut beth oedd bywyd i'r rhai a ddaeth o'n blaenau, trwy gymharu'r hen a'r newydd a sut ysbrydolodd y pentref Dylan Thomas i ysgrifennu ei ddrama enwog - 'Under Milk Wood'.
Rydym yn falch iawn o'n prosiect, a rydym yn gobeithio y byddwch yn mwynhau ei archwilio cymaint ag y gwnaethom ni fwynhau ei greu.
We have also imagined what life was like for those who came before us, by comparing the old and the new and how the village inspired Dylan Thomas to write his famous play - ‘Under Milk Wood’.
We are very proud of our project, and we hope you enjoy exploring it as much as we enjoyed creating it.
Winner of the Wales Adobe / Hwb Film Festival 2025
The inspiration for producing this film derived from our thematic study of the rich history and heritage of our village - Cei Newydd, which is situated on the Ceredigion Coast of West Wales.
In particular, we were captivated by the legends and tales of 18th century smugglers, hidden contraband, secret tunnels, and daring escapes from customs officers.
The idea of portraying bold characters, such as ‘Sion Cwilt’ the legendary leader of the smuggling gang and the customs and excise men, in a dramatic way, certainly excited us.
Our class - Year 5 and 6 pupils (24 pupils) were involved in producing the film. We also included year 3 and 4 pupils in the church scenes.
Winner of the Wales Adobe / Hwb Film Festval 2025
We were fascinated by the storytelling, the dressing up, and the excitement of playing out dramatic scenes. The filming on our local beach, in wooded areas along with the church and local pub, added an authentic feel and proved to be a real adventure. The pupils brought unexpected creativity to their roles, leading to dramatic moments that added charm to the film.
We benefited from developing numerous skills such as collaborating on ideas and script writing, directing, acting, and editing. We also loved the process of preparing props such as the brandy barrels and going to sea in a small rowing boat. We also gained an insight into 18th-century life, trade, and the risks the smugglers were willing to take.
